Transport Minister visits Colchester

Transport Minister Chris Mole visited Colchester this afternoon at the invitiation of Labour Parliamentary Candidate Jordan Newell.

 

Jordan Newell shows Transport Minister Chris Mole the new Hythe Mr Mole, who is the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Road and Rail services, began his visit with a trip to Hythe Station. In Hythe, Mr Mole and Jordan Newell saw the newly refurbished station site and meet with local councillors and residents who were instrumental in getting the site redeveloped.

 

Speaking ahead of the visit, Jordan said:

 

I am delighted to be welcoming Chris Mole to Colchester. Chris has a good understanding of local transport needs and this is a good opportunity to show him how those needs can be met, with the extra investment in rail infrastructure which has transformed Hythe Station”.

 

From the station, the Minister visited the University of Essex where he took part in an informal roundtable event hosted by the Essex Labour Students. On campus, Chris Mole took questions from students on various issues Chris Mole at Essex Universityranging from climate change to state funding for political parties.

 

The development of Hythe Station highlights what hard working local Labour representatives can achieve in the community and it is great that our representatives of future will be on hand to meet the Minister at Essex University today”, Jordan added.
