Review Of Education in Colchester

The County Council in Essex has published its decision on the recent consultation

From the 3 Options, they have chosen to close Thomas Lord Audley School and Alderman Blaxill School and send the young people to all the other Schools across Colchester, and to build a brand new school on or around the Charles Lucas site.

The Labour Councillors  in Colchester has discussed this, and feel that we are eager for a new School to be built for Charles Lucas school, but will continue to work to ensure a series of gaurantees for people who live in that area, and for pupils who attend while building work is going on.

However - we remain opposed to closure of Thomas Lord Audley and Alderman Blaxill schools. We prefer that a there is a secondary school presence in South Colchester,

We still feel that an using existing Schools Thomas Lord Audley and Alderman Blaxill as an annexe of Stanway School was not only viable but would mean local children going to local Schools.

On the Charles Lucas site, we welcome investment into a new School, and will continue to work in the interests of Colchester People.
