Lib Dem lies over Labour's fight for
Thomas Lord Audley School

The fight for the future of Thomas Lord Audley School goes on, that was the pledge from Colchester's Labour candidate, Jordan Newell, tonight. "I am fighting to retain secondary education provision at TLA", he said.

Mr Newell was responding to the latest Lib Dem propaganda leaflet being distributed in Berechurch over the past few days.

Speaking this evening, Jordan said:

Jordan has been fighting for local schools since 2009"In this leaflet, the Lib Dems say that I have 'given up' on the fight for Thomas Lord Audley School. I would like to say, here and now, that that is completely untrue. They claim to have been told this information by The Gazette, who have to their credit, frequently published Colchester Labour Party's constant and unaltered position on the secondary school reorganisation."

Colchester Labour Party has always supported the investment in Colchester's schools that will bring a new academy in Greenstead. Both Jordan Newell and local Labour Councillors continue to lobby at all levels to achieve the best outcome for the children and families in South Colchester.

"As a school governor in Colchester, I am personally and passionately committed to education in our town and the misinformation and misrepresentation of my position by the Lib Dems is clearly a sign of their desperation, " Jordan added.
