Jordan meets with Prime Minister

 

Colchester’s Labour Candidate, Jordan Newell, has met the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, to talk about the key issues facing Colchester in the run up to the next General Election. Jordan met with Mr Brown at the House of Commons, where they chatted about students, soldiers and the snow.

 

Gordon Brown with Jordan NewellAsked how Colchester had coped in the recent cold weather, Jordan informed the Prime Minister of the lack of grit provided by Essex County Council and praised Labour Cabinet Members on Colchester Borough Council who had stepped in to ensure Colchester's main paths and roads.

 

The Prime Minister also asked about Colchester-based troops and the garrison's intergration with the town, and about the work that Labour is doing with students at the University of Essex.
