Tim and Julie Young with Jordan Newell and Essex University Labour StudentsOther Labour Councillors, together with local Young Labour Members, also attended the event and spoke to students, staff and other exhibitors.

Speaking after the event, Jordan said:

I’m always delighted to be at the university, and especially to meet other young people interested in politics. Max, Hannah and all the members of the Labour Society have worked really hard today and have been awarded by tripling their membership.

Cllr Julie Young, who’s council ward covers the university, said:

Labour Students at Essex University work really hard, all year round, for the student community both on and off campus. As a councillor representing a large part of Colchester's student population, I know how important their work is."
