Jordan highlights Colchester's proud military links

Jordan meets Armed Forces Minister

Colchester’s Labour Candidate, Jordan Newell, has met the Armed Forces Minister, Bill Rammell MP, to talk about local defence issues affecting Colchester.

Jordan Newell and Armed Forces Minister Bill RammellDuring their hour-long meeting in Westminster, Jordan highlighted Colchester's proud military links and discussed with the Minister a range of issues including Afghanistan, Colchester Garrison and the support for our armed forces and their families.

Speaking after the meeting, Mr Rammell said:

"Colchester is a town with a proud military tradition, and I was delighted to meet with Jordan Newell, Labour prospective parliamentary candidate for Colchester, to discuss the local issues. Our servicemen, past and present, do an excellent job under difficult circumstances for our country and it is clear that Jordan Newell is committed to supporting our troops.”

Jordan added:

"I was extremely pleased to be able to meet Bill Rammell today to talk about defence issues affecting Colchester. It was an opportunity not only to raise points of concern but also to thank the Government for their continued commitment, support and investment in Colchester Garrison."
